Shulim muller

Founder

In 1955, the Antwerp diamond district saw the birth of a new legacy. Shulim Muller founded S. Muller & Sons during this pivotal year. Notably, he chose the name as a tribute to his two sons. Consequently, he built the brand on the pillars of personal connection and a deep passion for the craft. Mr. Shulim was much more than a simple merchant. Instead, he was a commanding leader with immense charisma. As a result, he conquered the competitive Antwerp scene with breathtaking speed.

Antwerp: The Global Diamond Capital

At the time, the diamond trade was a visceral and physical world. Therefore, buyers from every corner of the globe traveled to the bustling port city of Antwerp to find stones. The streets stayed vibrant and alive around the clock. In this environment, merchants sealed every major deal with a simple handshake.

Eventually, S. Muller & Sons rose to prominence under Shulim’s masterful guidance. The firm even secured the prestigious status of a DTC Sightholder. This milestone transformed the firm into an elite diamond polisher. Furthermore, it granted the family direct access to the world’s most exquisite rough stones.

A Dedication to the Cut

The Muller family always obsessed over the “perfection of the cut.” In fact, they realized early on that only a master cutter unlocks a diamond’s true glory. To ensure this quality, they established a rigorous training program for the industry’s most talented artisans. Today, the main factory still sits next to the sales office in the iconic Schupstraat. In addition, the family built a second facility in Pulle. This expansion helped the company meet growing global demand while maintaining uncompromising standards.

Innovation and Global Reach

Innovation took a revolutionary turn in the 1980s. Specifically, S. Muller & Sons forged a historic partnership with the EightStar Diamond Company. At the time, EightStar pioneered the “Super Ideal” polish in Japan under Mr. Tamura’s guidance. This specific method maximizes light return to an extraordinary degree. Consequently, the collaboration solidified the Muller reputation for mathematical precision and diamond optics.

While Schupstraat remains the operational home, the brand now reaches every corner of the world. The company brings Antwerp’s craftsmanship to a global elite through exclusive trade fairs and private events. For example, a crowning moment occurred during the China Expo 2010. S. Muller & Sons represented Belgium as a distinguished ambassador of luxury. During the event, they showcased a 55-year legacy of brilliance to millions of visitors.
