EightStar Diamond

The Birth of EightStar Perfection
S. Muller & Sons leads the way in manufacturing and marketing Hearts & Arrows Diamonds. Specifically, this diamond originates from a Japanese innovation called the EightStar diamond. Mr. Takanori Tamura worked closely with a skilled polisher, Mr. Higuchi, to develop this stone. Together, they aimed to maximize light return in every diamond.
To achieve this, they created the FireScope. This tool allows polishers to see light leakage visually. Within this scope, red indicates light return. Conversely, white shows light leakage. Their primary goal was to create a diamond that appeared completely red.
After a relentless trial and error process, they reached a breakthrough. They realized that a perfect cut was entirely possible. At the time, most manufacturers preferred the status quo. They had no incentive to improve their process. However, Mr. Tamura and Mr. Higuchi chose to innovate instead.
A Revolution in Light
Consequently, the EightStar diamond was born. This pioneering cut offers maximum light return. In fact, it glows completely red when viewed through the FireScope. They achieved this feat without high-tech machines or modern software. Furthermore, no “excellent cut” standard existed in the market yet.
Therefore, the EightStar represents pure human creativity and perseverance. Mr. Tamura viewed these diamonds as the ultimate expression of the human mind. Over time, his theories sparked a global revolution in diamond cutting.
The Antwerp Connection
S. Muller & Sons recognized this revolution immediately. Because of this, the company sent master polishers from Antwerp to Japan to study the new cutting proportions and eventually mastered the art of the perfect diamond. Today, we still follow Mr. Tamura’s vision. Specifically, we have maintained these high standards for over 35 years.
